Head stylist and Box founder Guillaume’s career began when used to style his grandma's dog 'Dolly'. He went on to be trained at the prestigious L’Oreal academie in Paris before being recruited to manage one of West London’s busiest salons. Since then he has trained at the Goldwell KMS academy in Santa Monica, LA and successfully managed two other West End salons. Guillaume has successfully established himself as the go-to hairdresser for expert balayage, ombre colouring, hair contouring and precision cuts. Since opening The Box his proudest achievements have included being nominated for best New Salon in Creative Head Magazine's award ceremony in 2017 and Winning Time Out's 2018 Love London award for best local hairdresser. Outside of work he is a Celine Dion fan and enthusiastic horticulturalist and a terrible cook.
A living mermaid with a vibrant shock of turquoise hair, assistant manager Anna was born in Finland where she trained at the illustrious Salon Pepe Åhman in Helsinki. An instinctive colourist, she specialises in natural looking balayage but also enjoys giving her clients pastel hues or bold, creative colours. Since moving to London she worked her way up to Style Director at a popular Soho salon and developed a great reputation for mermaid hair colour transformations. Anna is meticulous with her consultations, prides herself on to-die-for scalp massages and is a committed Harry Potter fan.
Sassy New Zealand born, senior stylist Yasmin always knew she wanted to be a hairdresser and began buying dog-eared hairdressing books and practicing on her terrified siblings from a young age. Later, when she began training in Wellington, NZ, she enjoyed the experience and knew she was on the right track. She travelled to Australia, learning and refining her skills, before settling in the UK. Yasmin has a holistic approach to styling her clients and is always keen to help them discover fresh looks and new ways to express their personality. Mindful of practicalities, she is keen her clients can recreate the look at home. When she isn’t cutting hair Yasmin is one of those awful people who pretends to eat healthy and do Yoga.
Born in Latvia, senior stylist Tereze's first career ambition was to be a policewoman before cutting her doll's hair at the age of five and discovering a passion for hairdressing. She trained in both Latvia and in the UK, whilst also studying textile and fashion design, makeup and photography. Skilled in the subtle art of balayage as well as bold colour transformations, Tereze excels in putting clients at ease through careful consultation and great results. She believes the key to great hairdressing is to be friendly and professional, but above all make a damn good coffee.
GEMMA ROSE DEADMAN
Country girl and Box Senior stylist Gemma first trained in ballet and tap before appearing on stage at the London Palladium in London’s West End. At 16 she starting a job in a local salon and discovered a love of transforming people’s hair. She undertook formal training at North West Kent College, as well as specialist colour training. She joined The Box in August 2018 after impressing Guillaume with her personality, drive to learn and positive attitude. Gemma is especially skilled at bridal hair styling, romantic up-dos and elegant highlights. She enjoys working with the public and believes an essential hairdressing skill (besides the mastery of hair) is the ability to lip read while blow drying. Outside of work she can be found line dancing in her kitchen to obscure American Country Rock.
JACQUI THE DOG
Jacqui's excellent people skills and ability to fetch a ball are known all around her native Deptford. Since completing an MA in Canine history from Barkbeck she has focused her studies on human's fascinating desire to sculpt and colour their head fur. She will be a part time receptionist at The Box while she researches and writes her final PhD dissertation.
